♕ NINTH COMMAND | ACTION [OLIVINE CITY] | FOURTH WALL
[If you happen to be exploring Olivine City today, you may run into Archer. That's really not all that unusual - contrary to popular belief, he does spend some time outdoors (some being the key word there) - but what's striking about it is... well, the insane number of cats following him.]
Where did you all even come from...?
[They're all the little cats rather than the larger ones. That means there's a herd of wild Meowth, Glameow, Skitty, Shinx, and Purrloin following Archer around. He loves cats, sure, but this is a bit much!]
[...He may or may not have started carrying around one of those Purrloin though. It's only because he doesn't have one, it's not like he actually likes it or anything...!!]

[Well, the more valid answer is "Clutch that Pokéball like he's never letting go and kind of grin like a maniac again," but...details.]

You'll need to heal it first. Come on, let's go to the Pokémon Center.
[And off we go! Keep up now, bbthing!]
no subject
That said, however, he doesn't seem to mind the fact that he's still dripping up a storm once he's on the beach; he takes about thirty seconds to wring out that...skirt-thing on the uniform before he just shrugs, seeming to say "fuck it" before moving on.]
Thanks for that, by the way.
no subject
For what?
[As far as he's concerned, he didn't do anything. Gambit did most of the work, and she's very happily keeping pace with Kimbley. She seems to have decided he's okay.]
no subject
As for Archer's words...well. He just shrugs a bit at that, really.]
For letting me do that in the first place, I guess.
no subject
[Admittedly you're not Kimblee; it would be something short of a miracle to see him excited. But still, it's nice to see you so pleased.]
no subject
[He is so pleased right now, holy shit.]
no subject
[He's noticed. It really is good to see you so pleased.]
[Ah, here we are! The Pokémon Center!]
Give the Pokéball to the woman at the counter; she'll heal it for you.
no subject
You are being way too good to me today, Archer. You know that?
no subject
[No, it doesn't matter that you'll be leaving in a few days. What matters is making you happy now.]
Well, do you want to train her now? Or would you rather change clothes? I have some spare clothes I can let you borrow.
[As if he doesn't carry around at least five changes of clothes with him at all times? Please.]
no subject
Changing might be good, yeah. The water was fucking freezing.
[........]
...tell me you have more than those godawful sweaters.
no subject
My sweaters are perfectly fine, thank you.
[They've gotten worse.]
My bag is in the hotel; come on, let's head back there.
no subject
[And he will gladly follow after you, okay; he has no damn idea where they are, anyway.]
...so is this what you're always doing? I don't think I've seen you outside this much in...
[...welp.]
You know, I don't think I've seen you outside this much.
no subject
Well, everything is very spread out. The towns are at least days away from each other, if not weeks. The only modes of transportation are walking, Pokémon, or bicycling.
[One guess which one he'll never use!]
So yes, I am outside more often, but only because it's necessary.
[Here we are! Once they're inside Archer will shut the door and locate that bag he's stuffed under the bed. Hmm... what to give you-- here we go!]
[...Yes, it's the ugliest sweater he has, and you can believe it's hideous.]
Here, change into these.
[The pants will... probably be horribly loose on you, but at least they aren't hideous!]
no subject
He takes the clothes from Archer, linefacing really hard at that sweater as he does so; you're just doing this on purpose now, aren't you? However, he doesn't move to change right away; his hand shifts back a bit, toying with the unfastened collar of that jacket without moving to take it off.]
I probably shouldn't...
[He isn't sure how to finish the sentence; "do this in front of you" was the first thing to come to mind, but he doesn't seem too inclined to say that.]
no subject
[And as usual, Archer has absolutely no idea what you're talking about. He has plenty of clothes, that's not an issue. There's no reason for you to stay in that soaking-wet uniform. So what the hell are you even talking about?]
no subject
[He hesitates briefly.]
What Scar did, I mean. If there are marks, they aren't going to be pretty ones.
no subject
Do you want me to step outside, then?
[He isn't sure he'd want to see marks like that anyway.]
no subject
no subject
[He'll return Gambit and step outside, then. God, this is awkward.]
no subject
The...skirt that the military insists on making its soldiers wear is more complicated than it really needs to be - Kimbley generally tended to find that it's damn near impossible to get the dumb thing to stay on, and once you've managed it's so firmly on there that it becomes a production to take it off, and it's just stupidly inconvenient all around. The weight of it now that it's wet isn't helping any, since it's just dragging on the fastenings; however, he gets that and the pants dealt with reasonably easily, or at least with no more "FML" than dealing with them usually involves.
His hands slip a bit on the fastenings of the jacket, though he shrugs it off quickly once he has it undone; the shirt beneath it...he toys with the bottom hem of it before he just pulls it roughly over his head and casts it aside somewhere, not wanting to procrastinate it any longer than he really has to.
There's a mirror in the room; he makes a point of taking a good look at the marks - as he'd thought, they're definitely there. He takes a moment. Surveys the extent of the damage. Makes sure he'll remember it. He knows he's never going to show Archer, if he has any say in the matter.]
no subject
He checks that mirror one more time, fixing that cord in his hair where the ends had started to come a bit loose, before leaving the room to meet with Archer outside.]
Hey.
no subject
It wasn't too bad, was it?
[Damn you're tiny. He kind of has the shoulderspan from hell, but still...]
no subject
[He slides his hands into his pockets.]
I mean it. It's okay.
no subject
[Still, it's unfortunate. After a moment Archer reaches out to touch Kimbley's shoulder, forcing the usual smirk back into place.]
But it's fine. You're here now. There's no sense worrying about it.
