I've been in Johto for one year.

[Yes, this is a very important announcement. Archer doesn't look up at the camera, instead continuing to toy with Kann's anntenae.]

To those of you who have been here for quite some time, have you decided that you want to stay here? Why or why not?

[To those of you familiar with Archer, he seems quite a bit distant today. The fact that he's not looking at the camera is one sure sign, but he's also looking a little... down, for lack of a better word. He's not even trying to be threatening. This must be a first!]

I'd appreciate any opinions, even from those of you who haven't been here for very long.

[He gestures airily and the Alakazam running the 'Gear turns it off.]

[ ACTION - MAHOGANY TOWN, TEAM ROCKET BASE ]

[Should you find yourself in Mahogany Town today and you decide to explore the Team Rocket Base (which really shouldn't be all that difficult to find if you know what you're looking for), you'll find that the place is rigged with Voltorbs that will explode as soon as they enter a battle. They're not the only threat, however! There are five Psychic-types just waiting beyond there, all with orders to attack any intruders. They're also high leveled, but don't worry! They'll at least let their trainer know before attacking you!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to enter the base and either defeat the Psychic-types or persuade them to keep from attacking! Show them you mean no harm and they won't hurt you! After all, there might be something valuable or useful inside that base ~~probably not~~...

Archer is holed up in a room inside the base (Kimblee's old room, to be specific), still amusing himself by playing with Kann, the ridiculously powerful Venipede. Feel free to come bother him!]

I'd go back if if the option presented itself, since I have my job to return to. Even after two years, it's not like I'm attached to the world itself aside from my Pokemon...

Though I would want to bring my girlfriend back with me if I could... We're from close enough times and the same place, so it doesn't seem like a stretch.

[Two years and you still want to return? Goodness, Hayate, you must be incredibly devoted to your job!]

Whoever is responsible for bringing us here could probably send her back with you. I suppose it's just a matter of figuring out who it is, then.

Ah... Maybe... Though while I really would like to take her with me, she has friends here who I'm sure she'd rather return home with... I wouldn't want to keep her from her job either. It's really complicated when you're from the same place, yet at the same time you're not...

I imagine it would be. Is she from an alternate world, then?

[Sort of like how there's two versions of Amestris and he doesn't exist in one of them?]

I'm not too sure about that one, actually... When it comes to Japan it's big enough that we could be from the same world... just slightly different times. It would be kind of like having a series of doors... They'd all lead to the same place, yet how long the hallway to get there is varies.

That's a very good explanation of how time works here. I've met people from the same world I come from, but they've arrived at varying points. It's been a surreal experience, that's for sure.

You would really think that everyone would discuss this kind of thing before deciding to show up... Or drag people here, rather. It's just strange to treat it like a raffle.

It certainly is. There must be more to it, but I can't fathom how it's even being done to begin with.

If I had to guess, I'd wager it's someone fiddling with some power beyond their understanding and slamming a huge red button on a machine every so often to bring in new arrivals.

A machine... Yes, I suppose that would be quite possible, wouldn't it?

[That's said more to himself than to Hayate though. He'll recover after a moment of thought though!]

I suppose it would explain things. It's a better explanation than "people show up here randomly," at any rate.

Right? At this point it's as good a theory as any other. Especially when there's a pretty consistent pattern to how often people show up.
